"This anti-hopping clutch is a must for every ambitious rider. The APTC is a worldwide patented slipper clutch characterised by the outer clutch hub being divided in two, with the two components connected by a clutch spring. This complex mechanism, in which helical gearing provides for additional friction, has been developed to prevent the clutch from slipping. With the throttle open, this system generates additional pressure on the clutch plates; the clutch can slip on disengaging. The APTC with special pressure plate guarantees maximum rear wheel grip when accelerating and the anti-hopping effect when changing down. With optimum ride control, it is possible to ride faster into and out of the curves, thanks to the APTC. In contrast to all other slipper clutches on the market, this system only requires very light actuation of the clutch (approx. half the force is necessary). Furthermore, vibration of the clutch lever is prevented. Hence, this system means much less work for the rider, sparing him or her the discomfort of cramp in the lower arm."
